Most logos live on screens and paper. Some also have to live in three dimensions: on the front of an office, above a door, on a reception wall. For Atlantis Real Estate we designed a 3D logo: a golden symbol on a dark background, created to stand out on the agency’s sign and work just as well on the website and in print.

What a 3D logo is and when it makes sense
A 3D logo has depth. Instead of a flat drawing, the mark is designed with volume, light and shadow so it looks like a real object. It makes sense when the logo will be physically made, for example as a sign with raised letters, or when the brand wants a richer, more premium look in its images. To explore the subject, 3D computer graphics are the foundation of this kind of work.
A good 3D logo is always designed together with a flat version: the 3D mark gives impact on signs and video, while the flat one keeps the brand legible on documents, small screens and one-colour prints.
The brief: elegance for a real estate agency
Atlantis Real Estate wanted a logo that communicated quality and exclusivity, the two things buyers look for when choosing who will help them with a property. The agency also needed a mark that is easy to recognize from the street.
Gold on a dark background: contrast and elegance
We chose a golden symbol on a dark background. The contrast makes the mark visible from far away and gives it depth. Gold is associated with value and quality, the dark background brings solidity and refinement: together they suggest a premium service without shouting.
On the sign, the 3D treatment of the golden mark catches the light by day and by night, so the agency stays visible at any hour.

How we designed the 3D logo
1. Concept and symbol
We started from the name and from what the agency wanted to express, sketching several symbols before choosing one simple enough to recognize at a glance.
2. Flat vector version
The symbol was first drawn as a clean vector logo: it is the basis of every application and guarantees sharp results at any size.
3. 3D modelling
From the flat version we built the mark in 3D, working on depth, materials and light to achieve a realistic golden finish.
4. Sign and applications
We prepared the logo for the office sign and checked every other use: website, business cards, letterhead, signs on properties and social media.
One identity at every touchpoint
A logo works best when it looks the same everywhere. For Atlantis Real Estate the same mark links the sign on the street with the website, the documents clients receive and the listings they see online. That consistency turns a logo into a recognizable brand.
Signs that work day and night
The sign is often the first contact with a business. For an agency on a busy street it must be readable from far away, recognizable at a glance and visible in the evening too. When a logo becomes a sign we consider a few practical points:
- Reading distance. The size of the symbol and the letters depends on where it will be viewed from: across the street, from a car, from the sidewalk.
- Contrast. Strong contrast, like gold on dark, keeps the logo legible in full sun and at dusk.
- Materials and finish. Metallic finishes, raised letters and lighting change the way the logo catches the light.
- Local regulations. Many municipalities have rules on the size and lighting of signs, which should be checked before production.
Why premium brands use depth
Luxury and premium brands often use depth, metallic tones and dark backgrounds because they suggest solidity and value. In real estate, where clients entrust an agency with one of the most important purchases of their lives, these signals count: a 3D logo is a way to communicate quality before a single word is read.
Logos and signs the Donkey Lab way
We design logos, corporate identities and signs, and we know how to take a design from the screen to a physical sign. For real-estate agencies we also produce the images that sell properties: photography, drone footage, 360° virtual tours and 3D renders. Find out more on the services page or look at the portfolio.
Frequently asked questions about the 3D logo
Do I really need a 3D logo?
Not always. The 3D version is for signs, video and premium images. Every brand first needs a good flat logo.
Does the 3D logo also work on business cards and documents?
We always deliver a flat version as well, designed for print, documents and small sizes.
Can you prepare the files for whoever makes the sign?
Yes. We provide vector files and technical guidance for sign production.
Can you turn my current logo into 3D?
Yes, as long as the logo is clear enough to hold up with depth. We check first and, if needed, suggest small tweaks.
